This collection of graphics grew out of a simple yet exhilarating challenge—creating a drawing every day as part of Inktober 2022. A global challenge where artists produce 31 works over 31 days in October, each following a given theme. I decided to approach it through my own technique—a method of layering symbols, sketches, abstract shapes, strokes, and marks, weaving them into cohesive compositions.
Each piece balances on the edge of semi-figurative, semi-abstract, and semi-symbolic, allowing images to emerge from smudges and lines, intertwining and assembling into something greater. The themes set the direction, but within that framework, I sought my own path—working with intuition, sensation, randomness, and the meaning that surfaces through the texture of the paper.
The project turned out alive, metaphorical, and visually striking. For me, it remains one of my strongest graphic series. Some pieces have found their way into new hands—some sold, some gifted—while others remain in the album as a trace of that month, when every day became an experiment, an exploration, a search for new form.
