VIOLENCE
[in progress]

A BIOPUNK SCI-FI UNIVERSE

An ecosystem that grows into the body. A civilization built on symbiosis, faith and fear.

The Selva shapes human life. It surrounds settlements, separates territories and makes every journey dangerous. Each person is connected to it through a symbiont: a living organism that grows alongside its host and transforms their body. Abilities develop through experience and need. Fire is sacred, and only a few are permitted to wield it.

Missionaries venture deep into the Selva, carrying knowledge, symbionts and rituals in an effort to spread their faith. They see their journey as a duty. For those they encounter, their arrival disrupts an established way of life.

The further they travel, the harder it becomes to remain certain of their cause. The living environment changes their bodies, encounters test their beliefs, and continuing the mission demands ever greater sacrifices. How far will they go for an idea—and what will remain of who they were?

TWENTY YEARS OF A WORLD

I began developing VIOLENCE during my student years. Its characters and landscapes have grown and changed with me. Today, I am exploring this world through drawings, a graphic novel and a game collaboration.

2003 — The earliest surviving manuscript and the foundations of the world.

2012 — I begin Alevtina & Tamara while VIOLENCE remains on hold.

2025 — I return to VIOLENCE and begin developing a game with collaborators.

2026 — Work begins on the graphic novel. The first chapter, Part One — Smoke, is released.
