"Trauma" is a triptych that originally emerged intuitively. The first piece in the series began with a round canvas onto which I transferred a small sketch from my sketchbook, drawn in red and blue pencils. At that moment, I had no intention of creating a series, but during the process, I became captivated by the technique I discovered in this experiment.
At that time, I was part of the art group "Collapse", and I admired how Masha Lemon worked with painting—her ability to use flows of paint, create vibrant gradients, and achieve complex shades through the uneven spreading of liquid paint on the canvas. I decided to adapt this approach to figurative imagery, combining fluid washes with the sharp stylization of anatomical forms.
As a result, a series was born in which dynamic painting met graphic rigidity: male and female bodies outlined with black contours, reminiscent of an enlarged ink drawing. Gradually, the structure of the triptych emerged:
