OUTCAST
Installation
Polymer clay, acrylic
Jan 2024,Cyprus
Outcast is a provocative installation that explores the boundaries of art perception and audience interaction with the object. This project is an experiment designed to make the viewer overcome the barrier of form and engage their imagination, working not only with the visual image but also with its interpretation.
A series of objects made of polymer clay and painted with acrylic deliberately shock, confuse, and provoke. Their shape and visual language evoke a wide range of emotions, but behind the external provocation lies a multi-layered imagery, narrative depth, and conceptual content. Outcast is a game with the viewer, a test of their willingness to see beyond form and their ability to engage with the work on a deeper level.
The second, ironic layer of the project is to literally make the viewer stare at golden shit. This deliberate joke is woven into the exhibition, reflecting the duality of perception and the fine line between provocation, conceptual art, and audience expectations.
The exhibition took place in January 2024. This project is one of the strongest in my practice, and I take great pride in its realization.
